BTT-Membership

We are a friendly, supportive, and resourceful group, and

we are always pleased to welcome new members.

Membership

In order for a member to exhibit their original art works in any of the association art shows, they must be in good standing and have attended a minimum of eight meetings/events in the preceding year. This would be from any business meetings, demos, workshops, club-sanctioned community events, club projects and any future additions to be determined. Members are not required to display their art in a show, however all members are expected to participate in the event.

Members are also expected to volunteer in various roles to assist in the administration of the association.

The membership fee is $50 plus the name badge for $13 upon joining. Total $63.

Meetings

The Art Focus Artists' Association meets ten months of the year, from September through to June. Most of our members come from the Tri-City area, but there are no geographic boundaries and we welcome anyone to join who does not live in the Tri-Cities. Our membership has a wide range of experience and interests that are shared, encouraged, and supported.

Location:   The Outlet (Leigh Square Community Arts Village)

2248 McAllister Ave., Port Coquitlam, BC

Beside Port Coquitlam City Hall and across the

                   street from Port Coquitlam Bowl

We meet on three Wednesdays per month:

  • 1st Wednesday is artists' Workshop where we work together on projects or on our individual pieces.

  • 2nd Wednesday is the business meeting where we plan shows and community participation, have coffee,
    and socialize.

  • 4th Wednesday is demo night where professional artists demonstrate their skills for our group members as well as the public, free of charge.

The public is invited to the demos and there is no charge to attend. We have an overhead mirror which makes it easy to see the artist's work when they do their demonstrations.

Art Focus also collaborates in various festivals/activities and with organizations below to promote the club and share their artistic talents:

Scholarship

Art Focus is proud to offer scholarships to three deserving students pursuing a career in Fine Arts. We choose students from local schools; Ecole Riverside Secondary, Archbishop Carney Secondary, and Terry Fox Secondary in Port Coquitlam. Once chosen, students have the opportunity to display their art in one of our art shows. We are pleased to support students in their artistic endeavours and the scholarship fund is a great way to support the arts.

Scholarship funds are a result of generous donations from people who attend our art shows and anyone else interested in making a donation. If you would like to make a donation, please contact us here or email info@artfocusartistsassociation.com.
