BTT-Membership

We are a friendly, supportive, and resourceful group, and

we are always pleased to welcome new members.

Membership

All members have the opportunity to attend our many workshops, demo's, art salon's, community events and business meetings. Art Focus has two shows a year and members are encouraged to exhibit their original art work.

To participate in the shows, members must be in good standing and have attended a minimum of eight meetings/events in the preceding year. This would be from any business meetings, demos, workshops, art salons, club-sanctioned community events, club projects etc.  Members are not required to display their art in a show, however volunteering to help with the event will ensure it's success!

Members also volunteer in various roles to assist in the administration of the association.

The 10 month membership fee is $50 plus the name badge for $18 upon joining.

If you are joining after February 1st, membership is $25 plus $18 for the name badge.

If you would like to join our club, please contact us or ask at one of our free demos or events!

Meetings

The Art Focus Artists' Association meets ten months of the year, from September through to June. Most of our members come from the Tri-City area, but there are no geographic boundaries, and we welcome everyone! Our membership has a wide range of experience and interests that are shared, encouraged, and supported.

Location:   The Outlet (Leigh Square Community Arts Village)

2248 McAllister Ave., Port Coquitlam, BC

Beside Port Coquitlam City Hall and across the

                   street from Port Coquitlam Bowl

We meet on three Wednesdays per month:

  • 1st Wednesday is artists' workshop where we work together on projects or on our individual pieces.

  • 2nd Wednesday is the business meeting where we plan shows and community participation, have coffee,
    and socialize.

  • 3rd Wednesday is the art salon where members get together to create and socialize.

  • 4th Wednesday is demo night where professional artists demonstrate their skills for our group members as well as the public, free of charge.

The public is invited to the demos and there is no charge to attend. Accomplished artists are invited to do a demonstration of their technique--it's a great learning experience! We have a projector which makes it easy to see the artist's work when they do their painting.

Art Focus also collaborates in various festivals/activities and with organizations to promote the club and share their artistic talents:

Scholarship

Art Focus is proud to offer scholarships to four deserving students pursuing a career in Fine Arts. Students are chosen from local schools; Ecole Riverside Secondary, Archbishop Carney Secondary, CABE and Terry Fox Secondary. Once chosen, students have the opportunity to display their art in one of our art shows.

We are pleased to support students in their artistic endeavours and the scholarship fund is a great way to support the arts.

Scholarship funds are the result of generous donations from people who attend our art shows and others. If you would like to make a donation, please contact us here or email info@artfocusartistsassociation.com.
