After teaching for thirty-five years in the public school system,  Peri-Laine now spends time doing art work in her home studio, presenting demos and workshops, doing some commissioned pieces, as well as teaching community art programs to adults.

Peri-Laine is an art specialist with a degree in Fine Arts from UC Berkeley, holds a teaching certificate from the University of British Columbia and a Post Baccalaureate Diploma in Fine Arts Education from Simon Fraser University. Peri-Laine is also a member of the BC Art Teachers Association and the Burnaby Artists Guild.

“I work in a variety of mediums depending on the subject and my current mood. I love the colours, shapes, patterns and textures in nature, which are frequently represented in my work. Weather permitting, I enjoy working in plein air, usually with watercolour and ink, gouache or pastels.”
